PROJECT 1 : REPRESENTING ME
THIS IS AN ICE BREAKING PROJECT. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT IS FOR STUDENT TO UNRAVEL THIER CREATIVE SIDE AND INNER SELF THROUGH VARIOUS MODE OF COMMUNICATION OR ART FORM. STUDENT AS DESIGNERS WILL GENERATE IDEAS AND QUALITIES WILL LATER ON APPLIED TO ANY THREE DIMENSIONAL FORM. STUDENTS HAVE TO PRODUCE ONE 3D ARTWORK, ONE PANEL OF A2 PRESENTATION BOARD AND A VERBAL PRESENTATION.
FIRST, STUDENT HAVE TO UNRAVELLING 'SELF' IDENTFY QUALITIES THAT A BEST DESCRIBE YOU AND DISTINCT BY USING IMAGE MAP MAPPING AND DIAGRAMS.THEN, SKETC OUT THE IDEAS ANS SELECT THE MODE OF ART FORM. LAST, DECIDE AND APPLY THE MATERIALS TO REPRESENT 'SELF'.

I HAVE EXPLORED DIFFERENT POSSIBILITIES OF GENERATING IDEAS THROUGH RIGOROUS DESIGN PROCESSES AND VARIOUS APPROACHES IN TRANSLATING IDEAS AND ABSTRACTING TRANSATION AND INTERPRETATION THROUGH THIS ASSIGNMENT. BESIDES, IT BRINGS OUT THE INITIAL CHARACTER OF ME AND ALSO ENHANCE MY VERBAL COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION SKILLS.
PROJECT 2 : LIFE CAPSULE
SELF- EXPRESSION THROUGH ARCHITECTURAL SPACE
PROJECT 2 IS TO AIM TO EXPAND THE INTERPRETATION OF ONE SELF AND HEIGHTEN THE AWARENESS OF STUDENTS ABOUT HUMAN BODY, INTERACTION OF SPACE AND BODY, AND EXPLAORES THE ROLE OF REASONING AND LOGIC IN SHAPING THE FORM AND SPACE.
FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT, WE HAVE TO FORM A GROUP OF 6, AND PICK ONE OF THE MEMBERS WHICH WILL BECOME THE USER OF THE CAPSULE. THE USER'S BODY DIMENSIONS AND THE OCCUPATION THAT HE OR SHE WILL PORTRAY. THE LIFE CAPSULE HAVE TO BE A CONFINED SPACE WHICH WILL HOUSE MULTI-FUNCTIONAL FURNITURE WHICH THE USER CAN USE FOR SEVERAL POSITIONS AND FOR ACTIVITIES WITHIN A 24 HOURS PERIOD. I FIND IT VERY CHALLENGING BECAUSE WE HAVE A LIMITED SPACE BUT IT CAN ENHANCES OUR ANALYTICAL AND CREATIVE SKILLS .
THROUGH THIS ASSIGNMENT, I HAVE LEARNT TO APPLY THE UNDERSTANDING OF BASIC ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PRINCIPLES, AND THE NOTION OF BODY AND SPACE INTERACTIONS. BESIDES, TO WORK AS A GROUP, TEAMWORK IS VERY IMPORTANT. TEAMS DON'T WORK WITHOUT TEAMWORK. WE DIVIDED THE TASKS INTO SEVERAL PARTS AND EACH OF US HAVE TO DO OUR OWN PART SO THAT WE CAN GET IT DONE QUICKLY WITHOUT PROCRASTINATE I HAVE ALSO LEARNT ABOUT CARDBOARD FTTINGS TECHNIQUE, THE MEANING OF FURNITECTURE, ANTHROPOMETRICS AND ERGONOMICS.
PROJECT 3A : STORY TELLING AND NARRATIVE
MY BUILDING, MY ARCHITECTURE
THIS EXERCISE IS TO SERVE AS TEST ON HOW WELL WE CAN NARRATE AND 'STORY TELL' AND WHETHER WE HAVE LEARNED AD UNDERSTAND ESSENTIAL ASPECTS OF DESIGN. THESE ASPECTS INCLUDE FAMILIARIZATION OF ARCHITECTURAL TERMINOLOGIES AND THIR ABILITIES TO USE ARCHITECTURAL LANGUAGE TO SHARE OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE DESIGN (FORM & SPACE ) ON THE ARCHITECTURE THAT WE HAVE CHOSEN. MY GROUP HAVE CHOSEN ISTANA BUDAYA AS OUR SITE. IT IS MALAYSIA'S MAIN VENUE FOR ALL TYPES OF THEATRE INCLUDING MUSICAL THEATRE, OPERETTA, CLASSICAL CONCERT AND OPERA FROM LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCES.
THIS WAS AN INTERESTING ASSIGNMENT, BECAUSE IT ALLOWS US TO DO MOST OF THE THINGS THAT WE ENJOY MOST DOING. FOR EXAMPLE, BONDING WITH FRIENDS, TRAVELLING STORYTELLING AND MORE IMPORTANTLY TAKING AND UPLOADING VIDEOS AND PICTURES. OTHER THAN THAT, IT ENHANCED MY PRESENTATION SKILLS AND STORYTELLING SKILLS. THROUGH THIS ASSIGNMENT, I HAVE LEARNT AND UNDERSTAND THE ESSETIAL ASPECTS OF DESIGN AND I REALLY HOPE THIS VIDEO CAN BRING OUT THE ESSENTIAL OF THE BUILDING.

PROJECT 3B : FINAL PROJECT
DREAMSPACE FOR THE USER 'A HIDE OUT'

AFTER PROJECT 1 & 2, WE HAVE LEARNT TO EXPRESS ONESELF THROUGH OUR CREATIVE MEANS AND MEANT TO BE PREPARED TO BE AWARE ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE USER AND SPACE, EMPHASIZING ON ANTHROPOMETRICS AND ERGONOMICS. SO FOR THIS PROJECT, IT INCORPORATES BOTH THE CREATIVITY AND ITS FUNCTIONALITY, IDENTITY OF USER, COMFORTABILITY OF USER AND CREATIVITY IN ARTICULATING THE SPACE. THE TASK FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT IS TO DESIGN A SPACE FOR OUR USER THAT WE HAVE CHOSEN BY ATTACHING IT TO THE WALLS/SURFACES OF AN IMAGINED 'CITY' ON AN EMPTY ABANDONED LOT IN BETWEEN TWO BUILDINGS. WE HAVE TO CHOOSE OUR USER FROM THE LIST THAT INCLUDE 32 PROMINENT PERSONALITIES IN THE FIELD OF ENTERTAINMENT, SPORTS, POLITICS, ARTS, SCIENCE AND OTHERS, AND I HAVE CHOSE MADONNA AS MY CLIENT.

AFTER THIS ASSIGNMENT, I AM ABLE TO PRODUCE A WELL-ORGANIZED, SYSTEMATIC AND CREATIVE GRAPHICAL PREENTATION THROUGH A WELL-DRAWN AND EXECUTED TWO-DIMENSIONAL FORM ( PLANS, ELEVATIONS AND SECTIONS), THREE-DIMENSAIONAL FORM (SECTIONAL PERSPECTIVE, AXONOMETRIC AND PERSPECTIVE) AND SCALE MODELLING. THIS WAS A FUN PROJECT, BECAUSE WE CAN GENERATE OUR OWN DESIGN BASED ON THE RESEARCH THAT WE HAVE FOUND ABOUT OUR CLIENT. BESIDE THAT, WE HAVE CONSIDERED USER'S PERSONALITY, OCCUPATION AND CHARACTER TO DESIGN THE SPACE THAT BEST FITS HIM/HER. TO BE HONEST, I AM VERY ENJOYED DOING ALL THOSE MINIATURE FURNITURE FOR MY MODEL, BECAUSE IT IS ONE OF MY HOBBIES.
