PROJECT 1A : PRE DESIGN ANALYSIS
STUDENTS ARE TO FURTHER DEVELOP THE STUDIO DESIGN PROJECT AND POSITION IN ARCHITECTURE. STUDENT SHOULD BEGIN WITH CONSIDERING A POSITION/ TOPIC IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO EXPLORE, GUIDED BY THEIR SUPERVISOR (TOPICS AND PROJECT TYPES TO BE SELECTED FROM GIVEN)
BASED ON THAT, STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO CONDUCT AND PRESENT THE FOLLOWING PRE-DESIGN ANALYSIS:
1. STUDIES OF THE CONTEXTUAL CONDITIONS OF YOUR SITE
2. STUDIES ON YOUR SELECTED USER GROUP AND BUILDING TYPES
3. STUDIES ON THE CULTURAL AND MEANING PLACE
4. STUDIES ON THE CURRENT RESTRICTIONS AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT ON SITE AND HOW IT WILL AFFECT THE PROJECT AND DESIGN
5. STUDEIS ON PRECEDENTS THAT INFORM THE IDEAS/APPROACH/STRATEGIES THAT CAN BE USED IN THE DEVELOPING PROJECT AND RPOGRAMME.

BASED ON THE PRE-DESIGN PHASE, DEVELOP A SIMPLE, BRIEF AND YET COMPREHENSIVE PRESENTATION. PRESENTATION CAN BE IN A FORM OF VIDEO,SLIDE AND OTHERS THAT CAN CAPTURE PEOPLE, PLACE AND TIME ON THE GIVEN SITE.
PROJECT 1C: FOOD AND HANGOUT SPACE
BASED ON OUR PROPOSED SKETCH DESIGN, CONSIDER AND INCLUDE EXPANDED ASPECTS OF DESIGN DEVELOPMENT ON TANDEM WITH THE DESIGN OF SPACES, E.G. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS, FIRE SAFETY, MATERIALS, CONSTRUCTION, SUSTAINABILITY, FEASIBILITY AND OTHER RELEVANT CONSIDERATIONS, WHEREVER POSSIBLE, INTEGRATING THEIR DEVELOPMENT TO PRODUCE A RICHER, MORE MULTI-LAYERED DESIGN. STUDENTS WERE ASKED TO DEVELOP A SELECTED PORTION OF THEIR DESIGN FOR TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT AND RESOLUTION. TECTONIC THINKING IN DESIGN APPROACH. AS WELL AS INTEGRATE ENVIRONMENTAL STRATEGIES INTO THEIR DESIGN. MAY LOOK INTO CURRENT SUSTAINABLE TRENDS AND DESIGN FEATURES. TO PRESENT WORK IN A MOST COMPREHENSIVE, SYSTEMATIC, CREATIVE AND COMPREHENSIVE MANNER. ARCHITECTURAL; VISUALIZATION, MODELLING AND REPORT.
AFTER THIS PROJECT, I HAVE LEARNT TO PRODUCE DESIGN DEVELOPMENT DRAWINGS FOR A SELECTED PORTION OF DESIGN WITH A SUITABLE LEVEL OF COMPLEXITY AND DESIGN WITH CONSIDERATIONS OF BUILDING PERFORMANCE (THERMAL COMFORT, ACOUSTIC AND LIGHTING), REGULATORY FRAMEWORKS, AND HEALTH AND SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS. BESIDES, I HAVE LEARNT TO PRODUCE DRAWINGS (BOTH 2D AND 3D), MODELLING, VERBAL PRESENTATION AND A DESIGN REPORT TO COMMUNICATE AND VISUALIZE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND IDEAS.
FROM THIS PROJECT I HAVE LEARNT TO FORMULATE A SIMPLE BRIEF THAT INCLUDE APPROPRIATE ARCHITECTURAL PROGRAMME AND PLANNING WITHIN A SELECTED ARCHITECTURAL CONTEXT AND ANALYSE CASE STUDIES TO GAIN UNDERSTANDING OF ARCHITECTURAL RESPONSES AND STRATEGIES OF AN INTENTIONAL DESIGN STRATEGY TO INFORM THE DESIGN STRATEGY TO INFORM THE DESIGN PROJECT. BESIDES, I HAVE ALSO LEARNT TO CONDUCT CONTEXTUAL AND USER ANALYSIS IN THE PRE-DESIGN PHASE.
STUDENTS WILL ASSEMBLE ALL THE PARTS AND PIECES OF THE BIGGER PICTURE:
1. REVIEWING BUILDING CODE AND LOCAL OR CITY ORDINANCE
2. INITIATIVE ON ESTABLISHING DESIGN PARAMETERS
3. TAKE INITIATIVE CONSIDER AND STUDY SOLAR ANALYSIS AND OTHER SITE SPECIFIC ANALYSIS
4. RESEARCH ON PRECEDENTS OR DO ACTUAL VISITATION TO PROJECTS RELATED AND DIRECTLY RELEVANT TO THE PROPOSAL
5. RESEARCH ON DEMOGRAPHY, USER PROFILE AND UNDERSTANDING WHO WE ARE DESIGNING FOR
THERE ARE SEVERAL GUIDELINES THAT PROVIDE THE SCOPE OF OUR PROPOSED PROJECT AS FOLLOWED:

ï‚· PROPOSALS ARE TO BE TAKEN FROM 3 SUGGESTER BUILDING TYPOLOGIES
ï‚· PARKING LOT/LAYOUT (BASED ON UBBL AND LOCAL REQUIREMENTS)
